Adding WUnderground Station to Rachio with Gen 2

@Ryan1 done (link), sorry for the delay. Lack of state information within your WU profile caused a bit of issue with pwsweather. Had to add an alternative lookup so this does not happen in the future.

Keep in mind, since this is an AcuRite station, you may have better long term support by using data from myacurite.com instead of weather underground. If you ever need to switch, simply message me (link) you acurite hub’s ID (mac address) and I can switch you over.

Ok thanks. Will look into that. As i am using the built in wifi acurite vs the separate hub you would need the mac of the display correct?

No, the mac address (or ID as acurite calls it) of your access hub. This is the same number you’ve used to register with myacurite.com and it is listed under Device ID here: https://www.myacurite.com/#/devices

P.S. I stand corrected, didn’t really fully realize what you have been talking about in your message as I didn’t know that AcuRite has made a version (link) with a display that has WiFi connection. Alas it seems that the only way to support this model is via weather underground (as we have it setup now), since it does not send data to myacurite.com.

If we ever run into issues with WU support, keep in mind that Ambient Weather supports pwsweather directly, more on this here (link), and/or you can create and send me an API key here (link) and my code can acquire data directly from their servers, instead of WU.

Yeah looked into this and tried but doesn’t connect to the acurite site. Looks as though it only uses the darksky and sends data to underground.
