Using "doubler" devices for adding zone without running additional wire

Using same wire for 2 zones

I have Rachio and adding another zone for my vegetable garden. After adding the valves, I found out only one wire works and other one is broken. Now I have to dig to replace the wires, but can I try connecting 2 zones to the same working wire at the controller and same at the valve and operate them at different times?
