Using same wire for 2 zones

I have Rachio and adding another zone for my vegetable garden. After adding the valves, I found out only one wire works and other one is broken. Now I have to dig to replace the wires, but can I try connecting 2 zones to the same working wire at the controller and same at the valve and operate them at different times?

I use a Doubler on my system. The initial installer didn’t run enough lines and it was cheaper to install a Doubler than to run more lines to the Rachio. I have a Rachio 3 and it works great. I’ve never used SkyDrop, but I imagine it would be similar.
