Smart Hose Hub Firmware Upgrade Keeps Failing

Add me to the list of perpetual failed firmware updates (altho admittedly I have not used my hub/hose in awhile until I recently finished a large resod job). Frustration got to the point to then factory resetting both hub (s/n: CA961926) and timer. Re-added back to Wi-Fi fine, re-paired the timer, and STILL get the timer f/w failure around 80% complete then saw this nice long thread. And now since I have “forgotten” the timer by 11 sec reset, the f/w update has become mandatory to finishing the pairing, so can no longer even use it … and I have new grass needing daily watering!

Your turn to fix over OTA or send me an RMA replacement.

Same here. I have two hose timers. 1 seems to be working, but most recent one added will not update firmware. Valve will start manually through app, but schedules will not run. Fresh sod is not happy when I returned home today.

@franz I am having the same issue trying to update my hub.

I have 2 hubs, one of them only a few months old. I was unable to add an additional valve to it so ended up removing and adding back the hub, but was then unable to add any valves.

I then tried the newer hub hoping for something different however after multiple tries it cannot update its firmware to the latest.

I have tried on my regular SSID network, and on a ‘IoT only’ 2.4G network, but also on a completely different access point vendor hardware, and still the same results.

I have a smart hose timer and the iOS app keeps telling me there is a firmware upgrade for the hub. I’ve tried the upgrade multiple times and it gets right near the end, and then stops there for about 10 minutes then fails with a message to power cycle the hub and try again. I keep doing that but still cannot get it upgraded. Any ideas how to get it upgraded?

I have did a reboot of the hub, did a reset of the hub ( hold reset 10 sec. Until flashing red) and tried switching networks. I am doing this for a friend so I took the hub home to my house where I already have a running hub. It failed to update on my known working network. I previously had this issue with my hub and it required a replacement.

Help please?

Joseph from your Support team contacted me shortly after you posted this. With his help I was able to complete my hub firmware upgrade, and I am on my way to success with my watering!
