Wires too thick?

Hi all, I just tried installing a rachio 3 from a hunter pro-c and the cable are too wide. I tried compacting them using pliers but that wasnt enough. Is there anything I can do or my system is not compatible? TIA

@freakinrat - a simple solution is to get some solid 18 gauge wire and splice it into the existing wires.

One option is to use wire nuts, the other is a terminal strip →

Maybe check out step down butt crimps (connectors). What ever gauge your wire is, to rachio’s recommended 14-16 gauge (gen 3). You’ll have to get the smaller gauge wire and butt connect them to your existing wire.
