I much prefer the PWS, even if it’s a mile away. Just check to make sure the precipitation of the PWS you pick seems reasonable to what you experience.
I don’t use the PWS closest to me because it’s precipitation recording often doesn’t work. So I use one a little further away that is more reliable.
