I installed a local weather station, as I am in a shadow of a 14’k mountain, and local reports don’t mean I got what they say I got, even within a couple miles. I have been very happy with it. It might be an option.
I know in the rachio3, they say don’t use a local weather station, but I had to, it might be something worth locking for a more local station if you live in a micro-climate like I do.
I also have found that taking the time to adjust the advance parameters to meet my conventional watering , to a minimum, has been working well.
