Hi all. I have the Rachio 3 controller with 8 zones. Most zones seem fine but zone 1 and 2.
Zone 1 has 1 rotating sprinkler and the rest are fixed heads.
The 1 sprinkler doesn’t rotate and the rest have trouble popping up without my help. Once popped up they only spray a few feet. I bought a new 360 degree sprinkler and it’s supposed to go from 8-15 ft but only goes maybe 5.
It’s weird because the hose spigot is inside this zone and works fine.
Zone 2 same issues as 1. Some heads reach what they need to and others are barely spraying. The new head same distance as the other new one isn’t reaching half of it’s ability.
I don’t notice any wet spots in the lawn from a leak.
Is it culinary or irrigation water? Sometimes when they do not pop up all the way and rotate, I find that it is the head needs to be replaced. More frequently, I need to clean my filter as we are on irrigation water with lots of particulates. Occasionally, I have to call the city to clean their filters upstream from me.
There is a chance that you have weak solenoids, or possibly need to replace the diaphragm inside the valves. If you can identify the valve, easiest way is to buy new complete valves, and use everything but the body of the valve to save the headache of replumbing.
