Updated Android app is broken

The Android app auto updated recently and now it will not even start up and I cannot access my Rachio devices. I have uninstalled and re-installed, re-booted the phone (Samsung S23) all to no avail. The app just hangs on the startup screen then disappears. It seems to be running in the background but when I bring it forward the screen just goes dark and I have to back out of there just to access my phone again.
Bug?

Thanks for notifying us about this issue. We are not seeing any errors come through at the moment and are unable to reproduce this. Could you try clearing the app data (long click the icon β†’ app info β†’ storage & cache β†’ clear storage). Sometimes old files hang around even after uninstalling and reinstalling.

I have the same problem. With notifications turned off, the app won’t launch. With notifications enabled, the app launches. As a workaround, enable app notifications and see if the app launches.

Android 4.19.12 is rolling out now. This is a hotfix for users with the notification permission disabled.

The clearing of the cache and data worked, and yes I had to allow notifications.
Once I was logged in I turned off the push notifications but allowed the email notifications and it now seems to be working properly.
