Turn off

How can I turn off for winter time?

Typically customers put the controller in standby mode.

If you live where you get freezing temps make sure you physically turn off your systems main valve and have it covered with insulation. That is in addition to putting the app on standby.

Hi,
Whats the difference between The turning off option and the standby option?

Thanks,
John

We support standby which will pause any schedules from being run through the controller. A lot of customers choose this option. You can also power down the controller. Schedules are backed-up in the cloud so when the controller receives power it will resume as normal.

Here in the Piedmont region of North Carolina we don’t have to blow out irrigation systems to prevent water freezing in the nozzles and below grade. But I do have a booster pump with plumbing quick connects that I remove from the system and store in the garage each winter. I also just unplug the irrigation controller completely and take out any batteries the controller may have for the winter. No muss, no fuss, no dead batteries, no vampire electrical drain, easy peasey.
