Surge Protection for 24v Valve Lines

I am on a quest to install whole home lightning/surge protection. At my location in Florida the thunderstorms have been quite vicious for the last couple of years. Lost appliances, deep well irrigation pump and electronics, etc. I have installed surge protection at all external breaker boxes and high quality surge strips and UPSs for critical electronics (such as the Rachio 3). I am now trying to protect from backdoor surges such as the lines going to the sprinkler valves to the Rachio 3 controller. I have seen images online of controllers that were blasted off the wall and present fire risks. I am looking at a device that will protect each line going to the controller. A link to the one I am considering is below:

Has anyone installed a similar device and how is it working? Thanks,
