Sudden Failure in Flow Monitor

Newly installed (a month ago) EveryDrop meter calibrated and was working fine. Today the Rachio 3 app reports low flow, but EveryDrop receiver display shows nominal flow rate. When I attempt to re-calibrate, the app shows zero flow through whole calibration. However, if I hit cancel before it’s done, it correctly picks up the correct calibration value (it matches the receiver’s display). When a zone runs, however, I still get a low flow error. Did a software update go out that broke it?

Same with me but I use the original Rachio wireless flow meter. Worked fine for several years. No idea what to do here.

@milehiguy, Thanks for your response. I believe I have isolated the failure to that EveryDrop receiver box because (1) when placed in TEST mode, the Rachio 3 Pro app still sees no flow during a calibration and (2) when I removed the Meter+ connection from the EveryDrop receiver and tap it repeatedly on the 24 VAC (-) terminal on the Rachio 3 Pro, the Rachio app starts showing a flow value. I’ve put in a message to EveryDrop and will see what they say, but it really does look like the receiver sensor output has failed, despite multiple power cycles and a flash reset. Oddly enough, the EveryDrop receiver display still shows what looks like the correct flow rates during operation. It’s just not reporting that information to the Rachio 3 Pro anymore.

Contact ED. They have a few of the original Rachio-branded wireless meters left, so if you still have the original controller that supports it, they’ll send you one. Might want to change the batteries

Thanks Dave but I have the Rachio flow meter not the EverDrop

Thanks for the reply. I did change the batteries but it didn’t help (still randomly reporting flow rates of 0.0). I may sound like a dummy here, but who (or what) is ED?

Sorry, I meant change the batteries when you get a replacement because they’ve been sitting on a shelf and the batteries inside them are probably pretty dead. ED = EveryDrop, who made the original Rachio wireless flow meter. Hit up sales@everydropmeters.com for a replacement.

Thanks, good advice. And thanks for the link. I’ll contact ED and see what they have to say.

EveryDrop came through and resolved this. They sent me a replacement receiver and it immediately worked. I just want to say thank you to EveryDrop for such great service. Every interaction I have had with them, starting from the decision process to make the original purchase through now has been very pleasant and professional. In each case, I felt like I was their only customer. If you’re on the fence about purchasing from them, I can honestly say, they are a great company to work with.
