I got 2 sprinkler controllers from other brands last year, battery compartment was flooded with water. Not surprised so I researched and found Rachio has pretty good reviews and I tried to set it up this year. It ran schedule one time then flooded the battery compartment. I am really disappointed with this type of sprinkler now, is it supposed to happen? I found another post on June 26 2024 posted by Fymaxwell who had the same water flooding battery compartment issue. So I guess it’s not just me.

I am sure you can find some number of people that have had flooding, but would guess it is a small minority. Mine has not at all with rain or even sprinklers, so I wonder how that can happen. The few times that I have opened the cover, I check the O-ring (or whatever is designed to keep the water out) to see if it is looking dirty, brittle, cracked, or anything that would result in a leak. I also wonder about the angle of the compartment.
If you reach out to the support team they will be able to work with you this issue.

I’m lost. What battery compartment are we talking about here?
I believe @HumbleBee is talking about the hose timer
