Really should have a Spanish Language App (multiple languages for that matter). Don’t know if it’s possible to do w/ the way the app is currently coded, but this is a BIG shortfall. I have a half dozen / controllers (I’m a landscaper in Mexico) and realized neither the site gardeners nor my crew can use it!
I would imagine with the demographics of the US market that any applications by a professional would benefit. As it is, this is pretty much a deal breaker for me. Will migrate to Hunter, most likely.
Most modern apps or websites now use variables for all text, and can therefore support all languages. Many in fact can then get user submissions to actually create a language file, rather than Rachio needing to create them. I’m guessing that there would be a very large Hispanic audience in the USA alone, irrespective of the potential international audience
Hey @championc Your comments on the use of variable text for multilingual support are valid, and I appreciate you calling it out. Multilingual support for our app is in our backlog. We need to prioritize and resource the research and development work. Your suggestion here has certainly reinforced its importance. I value your feedback and contributions to the forum. Thank you!
Unfortunately I don’t think I would be able to contribute a Gaelic (Irish language) version of a language file, and I might be the only Irish use too.
But we have our Rachio installed in Spain. It is working great, but the local gardener does additional AH-hoc watering, so I really want to work with him to get the balance correct on some zones.
He actually hijacked our controller two weeks ago, and setup our Rachion on his own account. Thankfully, Drew came to the rescue.
