Settings for DFW Area Zoysia Grass

New Rachio3 owner and community member here. First post. Live in Plano and have new (1 yr old) Zeon Zoysia lawn. Zeon requires about 1” per week with “deep” watering. Can anyone help with settings for Zoysia in DFW? Many thanks.

Flex daily, warm season grass, rotor head, clay loam, lots of sun, available water 0.2, root depth 6 in., allowed depletion 50%, efficiency 80%, crop coefficient 64%. Nozzle inches per hour (precipitation rate) 0.65 in.

This, of course, is my lawn (Palisades), so YMMV. Select a good local weather station/reference. Calculate your area(s) precisely. Determine your zone flow rate(s) precisely to calculate the precipitation rate:

Precipitation rate (in/hr) = 96.25 x flow (gpm) / area (sq ft)

for each zone. If soil is better than most, indicate that; on a slope, indicate that; etc. Then let 'er go. Zoysia’s slow to develop, but tough as nails. Rachio will water less than you’re expecting. If it’s green, you’re doing it right.

Hi John,
Many, many thanks for your settings info. I am going to set mine up that way. I am going to get accurate precip rates this week, so I can plug mine in. Very helpful, thanks!
