Reassigning my WFM to my Rachio 3

I forgot a few years ago that I had installed my old WFM to my new sprinkler system (2018) and new (back in 2018) Rachio 3 system.

I decided this season I wanted to connect it up and remembered that I had encountered an error that it was “already assigned”. Presumably to my previous Rachio controller.

So I sent an email to support with the serial number from the scanned barcode of the WFM that I have installed and assume they will somehow magically reset it in their system to my current controller.

Just posting this here to record what happens for future use. But welcome any comments from anyone who has done this or gone through this before.

They said they had reset my account and it should work, but I tried again yesterday (Memorial Day) and it still had the same “Already in use on another account” error.

So I emailed support again with my Rachio email address and the serial number of the water flow device. I wait their response and I hope they fix it for real this time so I can add it.
