Just got the rachio 3 the first week it connected fine and stayed connected. This last week though I have noticed it’s always offline. Today I was home and reconnected it then by this afternoon it already is offline again. Any advice or help is appreciated
Confirm that a simple reboot (unplug AC power, wait a few seconds, plug back in) will bring it back online. Wait up to two minutes for it to reconnect. If not, contact Rachio support as your unit may have a hardware defect.
Confirm that your router and any additional access points are configured with a fixed 2.4 GHz channel. Choose from 1, 6, 11 the one with the least interference. If your setup permits, use different SSID (network names) for 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHz; connect Rachio to the 2.4 GHz network.
If you still have trouble, please post: ISP? Modem make/model? Separate router/firewall, if any? Is modem in bridge mode? Separate access point(s) if any? With wired or wireless connection to main router? Different SSID for 2.4 and 5 GHZ? Any other SSID on your system (guest network, IoT network, etc.)?
