Rachio 3 Power Cycle

Same issue here, I just noticed this morning when going through the log. Seems to be working properly minus all the power cycles.
Gen 3
16 Zone Controller

  • 10 Zones Connected (all working)
  • 1 Common Wires
  • 1 Rain Detector connected
  • Plug has continuous power
  • Firmware: 5-632
  • Controller in in Garage, router is in room directly above the garage.
  • Router: Linksys WRT3200ACM running DD-WRT Operating system.

You guys donā€™t feel special. My Gen 1 is power cycling every day multiple timesā€¦ Today between 4:30 and 6:50 am, it cycled 5 times. Yesterday, 5 times. Rachio replaced the power supply, but itā€™s still happening. Honestly, it doesnā€™t seem to be effecting performance, but itā€™s disconcerting. I might have to open another ticket.

My Gen 1 is also having these same issues this year. The latest incident just happened last night/this morning. I watered overnight, but the Power Cycle forced it to stop before the scheduled watering finished. It didnā€™t restart it on its own, so I restarted the schedule this morning. It ran for 20 minutes, then got the Power Cycle error again and stopped. This is frustrating.

We have about 6 controllers for common areas in our HOA. 2 of 3rd generation ones have been power cycling often. Other 4 do not seem to have this issue. They are mounted in outdoor enclosures. They seem to happen randomly at different times of the day. Any help on this is appreciated!

Same issue with my Gen 1. It just started the Power Cycle issue which stops the scheduled watering. It never resumes so I have to do it manually afterwards. How do I fix it ?

My unit is Rachio 3e is power cycling once per day at random times each day. Weā€™ve already replaced the unit and the new unit is doing the same thing. Iā€™ve gone back and forth with support with no real solution other then them telling me I need to get my wiring checked. My outlet voltage is good and the unit so far has only power cycled while the unit is sitting idle, which would indicate to me that sprinkler zone wiring has nothing to do with it. If it were power cycling while running I would say it might be a wiring issue but thatā€™s not the case. I do have a rain sensor attached but I completely unwired it from the Rachio unit but it still power cycled. Can you please help me with this?

I have the same issue - a couple of power cycles every second day or so. Seems like this problem persists or my unit is from old stock as it was only installed a month ago.
