I just purchased a Rachio (COSTCO) which arrives in a few days. In preperation, I was wouindering how long the power cord is with this unit. If I nbeed to I guess the best way to extend it is a short extension cord?

Yes, a short three prong extension cord.
The extension cords at Home Depot were longer than I needed, but I was able to find one on Amazon.
