Rachio 3 potential issues with the light bar

Connected my brand new rachio 3 to power, wifi and the rachio app w/o issues.

Have NOT connected it yet to my sprinklers system. With 2 babies I haven’t found the time for this yet.

Noticed a darker spot to the left of zone 1 on the blue light bar

There are two darker zones on each end as well as captured in the photo.

Is this by design? Would these go away when I plug the unit to my sprinklers?
Or is my unit defective?

Looks like a defect in the LEDs to me. When powering up and connecting the the WIFI, etc., do you see the same segments out? It could be just the blue.
