Rachio 3 not sending notifications

My Rachio 3 controller is not sending notifications.

I have tried the email support but it is been abysmally less than helpful and not productive.

If I go into the app and turn off all notifications then turn them back on, it will send me notifications the first time the system runs. It will not send subsequent notifications.

I have ensured notifications are enabled inside the app. I have also ensured notifications for the app are enabled for both Events and Miscellaneous notification categories in the Android OS system settings (Android 14, Samsung S22, app is up to date per the Google Play store).

I have rebooted my controller several times. It has excellent Wi-Fi signal and has not fallen off my network.

I have followed the procedure detailed in an older technical post: setting my phone to manual time instead of automatic, deleting the app, moving my phone’s date agead several days, reinstalling the app, setting the date and time back to automatic, and so on following the directions to the letter.

I have also removed and added the controller back to my account.

Still, no notifications are received unless I turn them off inside the app and then turn them back on. Once again, only the first run notification is received after doing so, no notifications are received for subsequent runs.

A fix would be appreciated.

I also have the problem, not receiving notifications on my iPhone. The Rachio three has lost wireless connectivity Several times. I got no notification about this.

@zachio Any thoughts on troubleshooting?

You’ll want to make sure that you have notifications enabled in the app and have granted permission in the iOS system settings for the Rachio app to send notifications.

We’ve seen sometimes interference with certain network configurations that will prevent notifications from registering if using network wide ad blockers (like Pi-Hole). If you don’t know what that is then it probably is not something affecting your situation here.

Thank you for the reply.

Unfortunately, after multiple weeks iterating through redundant steps with tech support service, no solution was able to be figured out. It seems we explored all the venues known by the customer service team at that time - phone, controller, network, everything was pretty comprehensively tested, reset, and tried with no success. With no other solutions, communication was dropped with the TSR team and no notifications were received for about 2 months I’m following my last contact and changes to the setup.

However, about a month ago, following an app update, notifications reliably started coming through with run completions. Hopefully it continues to function correctly and the iOS concerns listed above can be figured out for Apple users.
