Rachio 3 4 Zone not watering

Hi everyone, I just switched from a Hunter X-Core to a Rachio 3 4 zone controller. The system with the Hunter was working without a problem. Since I switched to the Rachio, I cannot get any of my zones to water. It’s a simple 2 zone system, so I don’t believe I did anything wrong wiring wise. The old system did not have a rain sensor, so it’s not that. I factory reset the system and tried to add it again, that didn’t work. Any suggestions? Could it be the common wire? Even though the system was working just 2 days ago? I have added two photos of the wiring. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions

With the LEDs so bright, it is a little hard to see the color of each of the wires. I presume 1=green, 2=red, & C=white? Are the wires stripped and clean to make a good connection of the wire to the push terminal? When you run one of the zones, I presume the app & LEDs show that zone running? I presume you did not set up the system to think a sensor was installed? It would seem to me that the most likely would be not getting a good connection, but listed other possibilities that I can think of.

Thanks for your response. Yes that’s the correct wiring. They seem to be in good shape. The system worked the day before I swapped out controllers. Yes the LEDs show that both zones are running, but I’m not getting any water. I did not set the system to think a sensors was installed. I also manually turned on each zone from the valve and both sets of sprinklers work. Rachio support basically said get an irrigation specialist and stopped responding to my inquiries. Wondering if it’s possible that the unit is defective or if there’s something simple that I’m just missing.

I’m not electric savvy, what’s the best way to adjust/ check the connections? Do I have to go to the valves and check those wires as well? Or would I be best off just getting an electrician in to switch out the wires? I’m honestly not sure how old they are, since they were in from before I bought the house.

Thanks again

A defective unit is a possibility, although hopefully just a small possibility. Do you happen to have a multimeter? If so, that is the easiest way to test. Here is one such video showing how: How to check sprinkler wire, cable, and solenoids for proper loop resistance and operations. - YouTube.

Another thing might be to go out to the valves, listen carefully, and turn on a valve from your app. You should hear some kind of buzzing or click. The multimeter would tell you more. Hopefully you will not need to switch out wires.

Thanks for your suggestions….finally had a specialist come out and he figured out that there was a rain sensor wired into the c wire, which was causing the sprinkler to not come on. Never would’ve figured that out on my own. Everything’s up and running now. Thanks again for your help!!

That would do it. Since thought no rain sensor, I did ruled that out.

Yes, didn’t realize there was a rain sensor either. Thanks again!
