Rachio 3 16zone not opening or closing zones

Hey Team,

I was recently gifted a 16 Zone controller by my wife. Which was great!

I have installed it as per spec.

As i’m in Australia, I brought the appropriate local power supply - 24v 1amp supply.

First time I started up I realised the controller couldn’t open or close the solenoids (all new Rainbird)

After after rewiring the solenoids expecting a short of some type -no change. Solenoids open all the time. Master and zones 1 & 2. (First zones I’ve set up on my new irrigation system)

Brought a new power supply - 24v 2 amp - thinking the extra power might help. no deal

Im really confused as to what to do - an insight?

Appreciate some help as we are heading into our summer big time.

@Jimblaney - make sure the power adapter is a 24 V AC/AC adapter. Many people buy a AC to DC adapter and while the Rachio controller will run, the solenoids don’t work - typically don’t shut off. Also, make sure the solenoids are 24 VAC solenoids as there are some DC solenoids available.
