I recently relocated to Florida from Missouri (so no real irrigation systems) and inherited a Rachio system. The previous owners seemed to let the grass around the sprinklers over grow in some areas, but not all.
I purchased the valve reading from the rachio app and it states that on every single zone I have an “open line”. I found it odd that this would occur in every single zone, with basically the same error in every one. When I do a “quick run” it sounds like the system is going to kick on, but doesn’t really seem to work. I am wondering if there is something within the unit itself that could impact the entire system, rather than on a case by case basis.
In any event, I wanted to start here before calling someone in. If anyone has any troubleshooting recommendations, I’d appreciate it.
Wire Status Changed
We want to let you know we measured abnormal current:
- At your Rachio Home: XXXXX
- On Controller: Rachio
- In Zone: Right Side
- At: 03:30 AM
We measured an OPEN LINE of 13 milliamps versus your baselined current of 13 milliamps.
Recommendation
We recommend you check on this zone at your earliest convenience as it may not be working properly, and your lawn and/or plants may not be getting the water they need.
Solenoid wiring issues can be tricky and you may want to contact a professional if your zone isn’t working correctly.
