The new company logo is tragic at best. I don’t know how else to say it. Bland. Not unique. Zero personality like the original logo once you knew what the company produces. It looks like the kind of thing a venture capital would force on a company after purchasing them and getting them ready for sale.
I’m sure there’s some designer out there who could speak for hours on how they came to this result, but as an end user and enthusiast… yuck.
@scorp508 Man that hurts! We are starting to build more products for the outdoors that are not directly in the irrigation space, hence the new logo and some other re-branding.
Well, hopefully if we ever re-brand again you will like that one.
Always appreciate feedback, negative or positive!
Chris, Rachio co-founder, actually came up with the initial logo by taking the “r” and putting another backwards “r” on top of it
Have to agree with @scorp508 …I really liked the OG logo. It was straightforward, signified the company well, was very different from the dozens/hundreds/thousands of other logos depicting their apps on smart devices, and so on. I get it if the company wishes to broaden its product offerings beyond irrigation, but the new splash of color snowflake signifies nothing at all. Just a generic colorful object without context or identifiabiity . If new products are that far away from irrigation, maybe a new brand for those?
Agree. The old logo was unique and did not signify anything in the irrigation realm. The new one looks like it was generated by one of those free logo generation apps.
Finally looked at the new logo today. Just gotta say it looked like a logo for a needle arts company – the logo looks like some embroidery, a quilt pattern, weaving, or some buttons that I own. Somehow I can’t see Rachio getting into the fiber arts!!! I understand the need to rebrand (I’ve worked with other companies that have felt the need to do this), but I sure did like that old logo. This new one is nice, just not what I would expect for a company that also sells sprinkler systems.
