No rain for 4 months and smart schedule is skipping?

In San Diego. No rain for months. We are having a hot summer. Yet the smart schedule keep skipping scheduled watering days?
What gives?

Are you using WI+, or do you have it pointed to a specific PWS? Somewhere, it is gathering that the forecasted weather is expected to rain.

Dumb question, but when you set it up, the controller does have your correct location set up, right?

I am using WI+ and the location is correct.
I have been using the Rachio for a few years, it just seems lately the “skip” schedule has been a bit nutty.

As good as the concept of WI+ is, I’d always recomend finding a local PWS to point Rachio to.

What is the forcast looking like in the app? Does it show a high probability of rain?

No rain forecast, it seems to skip due to “saturation skip”

What schedule type are you using?

If you have schedule type set to a flex schedule and rain skip on this should work just fine with basic weather. I’ve noticed it’s best to keep saturation off unless you really have hard soil on flat land that pools.

Maybe toggle rain skip off for a few cycles and then toggle it back on to see what happens.

Also cycle and soak settings might be affecting your schedule too ! I prefer to keep it off as you would have to have all sprinkler heads and soil and landscape type perfect while using rachios recommended watering duration. I think cycle and soak is smart for grass in seasons though

Yes the answer was to just turn off saturation skip. Still seems odd to be that this should be an issue as a default flex schedule.
