New (and old) issues with R3

Once again this year, once I turn my sprinkler system on and activate my rachio schedule, the R3 goes offline every week or two and doesn’t water. This is 4 years in a row now. I keep the rachio on and online during the winter and it never loses wifi, but come May/June for some reason it can’t hold wifi.

Anyways, new issues.

  1. The app and online portal have issues opening now, they’ll just hang on “logging in”, this is happening a few times per week. This isn’t cache related on phone or pc, not network related, etc. It happens on different networks and on cellular.
  2. I’ve been using the same Flex Daily schedule for the past few seasons. For some reason this season, without changing anything, it’s only watering my zones 5-10 minutes each, when especially during this heat, some of my zones should be watering 1.5 hours. My grass is dead in a few large places now. Combine this with the wifi issue and it missing a couple waterings as well.

Any ideas? Should I get a new controller?

Went offline again last night and didn’t run its scheduled watering this morning. I thought its internal memory was supposed to run the system even when offline, but mine has never done that. Every year, May-June, it goes offline a lot and doesn’t water.

Also I manually adjusted the watering times since Flex Daily is apparently not working anymore. And changed it so it only waters specific days, basically just a fixed schedule now.

The similar issue of “ going off-line & “ loosening WiFi was the issue to me as well , but eventually the Rachio “ Stopped Re-booting/ it flashes 9 white lights 1st quarter & then a Red ; this patten repeats “)
