I have a section of my yard that my sprinklers don’t reach. I have to roll out a hose/sprinkler to do that section. Obviously, this isn’t a real zone in the controller.
It would be amazing if there was a way to set this up as an unused zone without automation and receive notifications from Weather Intelligence Plus for when I should water.
I know its not the purpose of the app, but it would be a great addition.
Do you by any chance have a zone on your controller that you are not using? You could set it up as a phantom zone (enable it) and it will think it is watering and send the notifications to you. I have a couple of unused zones and I use them for testing. I actually set one up for over the winter as Flex Daily so that I could look at the moisture levels chart to see precipitation and temps over the winter.
Yes I do have some free zones. It’s weird though because I don’t recall ever getting a notification when the system runs. I’ll have to check my settings.
Check app permissions in the OS as well. I get notifications every time a zone starts and finishes.
Like @linn said, I use my spare zones as “ghost” test zones all the time.
