Installing 2 Rachio 3 to replace two separate Hunter controllers-Common Wire Question

I have 2 separate Hunter controllers-one with 3 zones and one with 15 zones. I bought two 12 zone Rachio’s to replace the Hunter controllers. Is it possible to wire them with 9 zones each. Each Hunter is wired with its own single common wire. Can I split the common wire from the 15 zone to go to each of the Rachio’s? How do I move the 6 zones from the Hunter to join the other 3 on the Rachio? Can they share one of the common wires?

@Hambyjb - Yes. Here is the support article that Rachio posted on how to share a common wire → How do I wire one master valve, pump, or common wire to two controllers?

The three zone set and it’s common wire will go to one Rachio. Then extend the six zones that you want to move from the 15 zone to the same Rachio. Hook the common wire up to the Isolators and shown in the support article and put the output from the Isolators in a different C terminal on the first Rachio and then any C terminal on the second Rachio. Hook up the remaining nine zones to the second Rachio.

FYI, depending on schedule types, run times for the zones and other settings you may have a zone from both controllers running at the same time. Depending on the number and type of heads running there may not be enough water pressure to run both zones at the same time.
