I recently had to purchase a new rachio 3. Spending that much money for only a few years after the warranty period was frusterating. After pondering and keeping an eye on the new controller I potentially figured it out. I think maybe the common sympton looking back is that I got a short blue light above station 9. I plan to replace that solenoid to be wise. BUT, rachio design should be more robust that to burn up over a bad outdoor low voltage wire connection or bad solenoid that is often in dirt. I plan on going the extra mile and putting inline fast blow fuses on the common wire just before it lands on the controller; and the station 9 wire. Has anyone had similar experiance? And i guess my ultimate goal here is that if this works… I thinks its worth spreading the word that if you get a hung controller on a particular station more than once, do this sort of fix before letting the controller burn up on you.
