I know Rachio app uses my cell phone for date and time information to run irrigation schedules. Here’s my question: what
will Rachio use if I am traveling with my phone out of the country where date and time are different? The cell phone will automatically adjust to the new local data/time when I land in the area but wouldn’t that cause Rachio to run at odd times and dates at home?
Of course I could disable the auto time and date change on my phone, but that would really make things clumsy all around.
The timezone that the controller runs in is based on the property that was created for it (the physical address). If you travel across the world and create a schedule for 5AM, the controller will run at 5AM in whatever timezone it was created in.
The schedule runs off of Rachio’s servers. Your phone (and the app) is used to change the parameters that affect how you want your Rachio devices to operate.
