Hose Timer SHV101 does not power up

Out 12zone Gen3 system (Ser no. AC0033453) includes a WiFi hub (Ser. No. CA606666).
The WiFi hub is working great and is addressable by the home router (Unifi) with its MAC address etc.
Upon turning on the system this season, we found that the hose timer valve SHV101 (which was installed with Firmware 3.0.52 last summer), does not power on.
We put in various fresh batteries etc. but nothing seems to make it power up. No LEDs indicators and nothing happens after pressing the power button or keeping it depressed for more than a minute. The batteries are new and work elsewhere, so it’s something with the timer.

Can someone please advise on any troubleshooting that we can perform on this valve to make it functional again?
