German station disaster

Hello there,

We are planning to use your System in Germany near Hamburg.
I have red that you use data from PWS and National Stations.

I couldn’t find any nearer station on aerisweather.com than Hamburg, which is a big city,
so the actual station could be 40km away. The next PWS HARALDHH in HenstedtUlzburgDE 24558 is around 20km away.

Question is, are there any nearer stations and if not, will the PWS HARALDHH deliver good enough data for the System to work properly?

We live in Ahrensburg 22926 and we don’t plan to install our own weather station any time soon. The other technical solutions via PC/Mac are also not a solution.

You can use data from Weather Underground, such as this one:

Unfortunately the station you are interested in does not seem to provide rainfall data, which is actually the most important data rachio is interested in. If you don’t have another station nearby visible via rachio interface, you could try checking out weather underground, here is what you get if you search location by zip: Make sure to click the actual name of the station (next to the broadcast type of icon, in this case “North Hill Estates”, in order to get better information) [image] …

And here is how you can link a Weather Underground station to the pwsweather network for free, making it available to your Rachio:

Seems like you are talking about weather underground station, unfortunately it is not supported by rachio directly. What you can do is sign up for weather underground api here (link). It will default to a free stratus developer plan. This is the one you want. (when asked how you wish to use it, you can specify “website” and pwsweather.com for the website address). Next you can set up a free pwsweather.com station, this is somewhat similar to weather underground, just make sure you specify loca…

I’m having a hard time finding a good station with rain + wind information in your area, but as far as I know Rachio doesn’t currently use wind data, so you are best off choosing a station with a good rain data.

Does the Rachio controller skip watering for wind?
