Geo Drops

I think it would be really cool if Rachio paired with this company (or any similar company or product) GeoDrops (https://geodrops.com/) to better manage soil moisture levels. This could be a similar mechanic to how Rachio currently leverages data from Tenpest, but allows the moisture sensors to measure the moisture per station rater than a calculation. This would give Rachio a top notch ability to manage soil moisture exactly.

I’m considering getting one of these & using it to fine tune Rachio’s soil moisture calculations for my soil at my home.

I think that this is the most important feature to add. Transforming it from open to a close feedback loop simplifying sophisticated algorithms with tons of guess work. Without it, it is a marginaly good system

I couldn’t agree more. It would be a financial benefit for both.

I’m a GeoDrops kick-starter backer (as are some Rachio employees), so I know there’s some interest in the community ( How do you interact with soil sensors? - #38 by cchrisgates for example)

I’ve connected my 4 GeoDrops sensors to my Home Assistant (GeoDrops exposes sensor data via Google BigTable), which then uploads the moisture data on a per-zone basis to Rachio. It’s been working well this winter, although I obviously am not driving watering decisions through it yet

GeoDrops is working on their official IFTTT integration first, then I think a direct Rachio integration is next on their integration list.
