i am installing a 2nd gen. There are 2 orange wires that are 24vac on the old Rainbird. It says these would be for a sensor which I have never had. Should I wire them per the Rachio manual or is there another purpose for them?
If I am not mistaken, these are the power input wires, probably coming from that transformer which also has a green GND wire connected to the breakout panel.
You do not need these (thick orange / GND) wires, as you would be using the power supply included with your new Gen 2 Rachio.
The rest of the wiring looks standard / straight forward. Let us know if you run into any issues
