Crop coefficient off

Wanted to point out how off the dynamic crop coefficient is for cool season. When set to dynamic it was set to 76%. Researching online for month of may should be 95%. Not sure why it’s so far off. I guess I’ll be stuck entering static values each month :person_facepalming:t2:

If you done the research on crop cooefficients then it is better off to unlock (or turn off) the dynamic seasonal crop coefficent.

In terms of the article suggesting true turfgrass Kcs have been scientifically determined, I kind of disagree on that depending on the context since the reference is indeed sound in terms of theoritical reference but not practical in all situations but a good reference point. There is a big clash in that arena on what Kc provide a particular health outcome. Basically some will say 50% is good enough (there are research that suggest this, bleep you not), and some will suggest much higher values to acheive a high quality result.

One practical example where it may not apply soundly is the weather instrument. Is it optimally placed? Does it represent your zone hyperlocal conditions? If the instrument is placed in a open field, and you are using that on your zones that is next to buildings, within a woodline fence, then the Kc would be much lower than 0.95. If the instrument is placed near buildings with lots of wind eddies and other factors, and your zones are in the wide open then your kc values you chose probably be much higher than 0.95.
