Well folks, it was a Defective M Port on the Controller.
I tried the Replacement Controller that arrived today, and it worked immediately.
Problem solved.

I have almost the same exact issue. I have a Gen 1 that I have used for almost 4 years, never had any issues with it. Yesterday, we were replacing a few sprinkler heads and on the last one, we had to remove a tree root and replace a pipe. I turned on the sprinkler zone to clear out any dirt that may have gotten into the pipe, the pipe gurgled like it was going to turn on and then nothing happened. None of the zones will turn on. The blue light on the controller box is on and the app on my phone is working properly like the sprinklers are actually running. I did not touch the box or any other wires. Any ideas?? Help!
