Best location for everydropmeter in underground install?

My current sprinkler system is set up with an underground shut off valve that flows into the everydropmeters flow sensor and then to the sprinkler master valve. it currently does NOT have a backflow preventer. this is all underground in my front yard near the street, by the way.

I continue to get errors from my rachio saying there is flow and I believe it may be backflow. on the meter, there is a circle with a line through it which I think it the meter trying to tell me that water is flowing backwards… I can’t get anyone from everydropmeters to answer emails about this.

anywho: where should I put the backflow preventer? before the flow meter or after it?

My back flow control device sits between the meter and the Everydrop. I think the zero with the slash may mean flow is below the capacity of the Everydrop to calculate (see the specs for that that came with the meter… it’s more than a GPM). If it’s downhill to your valves from the Everydrop, you may need to install a valve downstream from the Everydrop to maintain sufficient back pressure to prevent cavitation in the flow meter, which will mess up your flow metering - the flowmeter is supposed to be full of water while metering.
