I’d like to use my rachio to run a misting bed. It would be amazing if you could use rachio for intermittent misting so you could run it 15 seconds every minute for example. Instead I have to go buy another controller for it.
You could do it with HomeAssistant turning the Rachio Valves on and off. HomeAssistant could be implemented on a RPi for $50 and a couple hours of setup (30min if you knew what you were doing).
Im all for a seconds option. Especially in quick run. The home assistant solution would also work.
A simpler low cost solution might be to use a $20 Shelly Plus Uni between the zone output of the Rachio and the drip zone solenoid. Zone output from the Rachio powers the Shelly. Wire the solenoid to one of the dry contact connections on the Shelly. The duration can be programmed on the Shelly and then run standalone; no home assistant required.
