You have built the greatest controller of all time. In my humble opinion there is no doubting that.
You have overcome countless difficulties and continue to swing away still today.
Unfortunately, it is the nature of human feedback to be a concentration of experiences of failure, misunderstanding, and impatience.
I just want to encourage you to remember that you are great, and that your only competition is “yourselves from yesterday”.
I also want you encourage you to “brainwash” yourselves to appreciate the opportunity of the many challenges to come. Thankfully, they will be many. (Or life would be boring, like hitting a hole in one every single hole in golf. Eventually your success would have no meaning without struggle and hardship.)
Actually, I agree with you! The program is relatively easy to understand and is reliable. Unfortunately, I just learned that Rachio will NO LONGER support the web-based application; jut the mobile app. I’m afraid this is a mistake, at least for me! I think it is quite short-sighted!
Requiring each person in a household to install the app in order to operate the system is unnecessary, as well as wasteful! If I am away or out of town, my wife or children MUST install the phone app! If our gardeners come and I’m away, they can only shut the entire system down (likely they will just unplug it).
It is an app. Not hard to have on a phone amongst the dozens of other apps. To me, firing up a laptop or PC just to shut off the irrigation system is a stranger concept that having an app…
Well there you have it - the bigger screen is just what I want!!!
Besides, if I’m unavailable, someone else can shut it off and on, from our computer without unplugging the controller.
For crying out loud, how tough is it for Rachio to just keep the darn web site function. Just seems like shortsighted and narrow thinking to eliminate those not totally adept with small screens (vision impaired) or who don’t have the app on their phone (workers at the house, children, my wife). It’s not about adapting to adapting to an app, it’s about appealing to a broader audience/customer base.
Oh yeah, I have and I do use it - and it works Ok. I personally prefer the Web App when I’m setting up a new addition or schedule or line. I find it easier to adjust since all my options are visible on the screen.
My actual point is there is truly no need to eliminate the Web App. It certainly can’t be overly expensive to keep it? I may be wrong, but I’m betting it is a generational issue perhaps. I prefer doing most things from my computer - I’m sure many others prefer their phone.
Ultimately, keeping the web interface could help Rachio appeal to a broader customer base.
