Acurite has closed their forums back when they’ve discontinued the Smart Hub and made practically their entire customer base angry. Not sure what happened with extra rain recorded by your Access hub, how far away from the 5in1 sensor is it?
Last time we’ve spoke, you’ve transferred the updates from access hub to the display, I’d try to transfer the WU updates back to access hub and relocate it somewhere closer to the 5in1 sensor.
I’d try perusing the support from WU site, but at the same time email AcuRite to see what they say about erroneous extra 0.8" of rain.
I would NOT email them. I did an email when I was having problems with my Acurite installation (about two weeks ago), and they have YET to email me back. I would only do the chat as that seems the only way to get a response from them.
@rraisley, I realize you probably already know this, but just wanted to post this for anyone else who might be following this thread.
This is my station, which DOES have rain data. Notice the rain data which does have the correct 0.31" rain beginning about 4 PM.
I did go back and remove WU from my Display, and added it back into Acurite Access, assuming the problem is with the Display, and not the Display and Access conflicting. It’s updating the MyAcurite site fine, as well as the PWSWeather site (every 15 minutes there, it looks like). Took a while to update WU, but finally did. Hopefully, the 83k problem is with the Display. Guess I could play around with using a different display, as I have 3, but it would be better yet to just have it be reliable.
Bummer about AcuRite’s forum; maybe Rachio /should/ make their own weather stations as was recently suggested. At least you’ve got fantastic forums with extremely helpful people!
First time I’ve seen the extra rain from the Acurite, when I /know/ it didn’t rain. Confusing part is that it doesn’t appear on my Displays, only Online, so even if the neighbor’s kids put water in it (it’s on the fence between our properties), it should still show in the Display. I’ll wait and see if it happens again.
Thanks for your quick ideas and support. You’re the best!
See the thread Forecast vs actual — I just started having this SAME problem, and just the last two weeks. Pretty sure it’s a WU problem, as some of the data on WU is bad on the Weekly and Monthly reports, but NOT on the daily report!!! And of course, Rachio is getting fed the bad data, even when the daily data looks good!
