first time user here. just bought a rachio 3 unit.
i inherited the toro tmc212 from the previous owner of the house.
The wiring for this 4 zone system doesn’t seem to mirror anything I’ve seen online before, so I thought I’d add what I am seeing to the rachio community.
On the first pic the two black wires should be going to the power cord. I don’t have but one green wire, and it goes to one of the zones. I don’t know where the white is going to and don’t know why the other wire is tied to the yellow wire. I’ll take any help you can spare.
The white wire is probably the common wire and will go to a C terminal on the Rachio.
The zone wires appear to be the green, orange, blue/purple and red wires and will go to Rachio 1, 2, 3 and 4 terminals.
Irrigation field wire is sold with multiple wires in the bundle, so the yellow and dark grey (?) are just the unused wires the bundle and won’t be connected to the Rachio.
The black wires that go to the power supply won’t be connected to the Rachio as the Rachio has its own power supply.
Do check for an in-line rain sensor outside on the eaves or fence as there does not appear to be a rain sensor connected to the current system.
Welcome to the community and post back if you have any issues.
as you can see this isn’t a sophisticated system and definitely isn’t a recent installation.
if there is a rain sensor somewhere, I wouldn’t know where to find it. I don’t think I’d need it anyway because the Rachio has the ability to sense rain from what I’ve read.
