@franz, @emil, @mckynzee
I’m reviving this topic as no one from Rachio has posted on it in a couple of weeks and I’m afraid that I don’t agree that the topic was “solved”.
My situation is that I have a Series 2 Rachio, I don’t have (and am not going to install) a flow meter, and I’m not going to purchase a Series 3 Rachio. The unit I have has only been in use for a little over one season.
I would like to have the capability BACK that would allow me to estimate my usage in gallons. I understand that this is an estimate, but know how to manipulate the settings to make it fairly accurate.
This is a capability of the unit that I purchased (not very long ago…) which I feel should have been preserved in the software update. Backward compatibility is a pretty accepted part of commercial software development and I feel that it may be being tossed out here. Considering that the software and data structures already existed to support this, it doesn’t make much sense to me. At the very least preservation of functionality of older units should last more than a year or two and their disappearance should not be a “surprise” feature of new software releases. They should be well publicized to the user base in advance.
I would appreciate a direct answer as to whether or not Rachio is seriously considering this request that a number of us have made. Thank you
