A heavy rainstorm today appears to have knocked out our internet connection and therefore, our controller is offline.
All zones are at 110% when it happened. Hopefully we will get it resolved tomorrow, but I got me wondering as to what happens with a Flex Daily schedule when it loses it’s wifi connection ?
If you’re concerned about too much water, just unplug the controller until your network is back.
If the outage is prolonged by several days, you can set up your phone as a temporary mobile hotspot and adjust schedules as desired. If you unplug your router (and any additional APs), the hotspot could use the same SSID (network name) and password as your normal Wi-Fi, so you won’t have to reconfigure anything in Rachio.
Thanks for the link. The forecast for two weeks ahead will indeed help matters.
The controller is in Spain, and I am in Ireland, so using a hotspot is not an option. It’s good to know how it will react if it does fail for a week or two.
What controller do you have? I have the original Rachio controller, and when I lose internet it becomes a complete brick until the internet comes back. If a program was supposed to run during that time, it’s not going to happen. I think the Iro 2 & 3 are different, though.
