Water Hammer Setting?

Can anyone tell me what the “water hammer” setting does on the controller?

Wishful thinking that it would slow the close speed of the valves, but I know it takes an external bleed restrictor to do that.

This will keep water flowing through your system for the entire schedule, potentially minimizing water hammer.

Let’s say you are running zones 1 and 2. 10 seconds before zone 1 finishes, zone 2 will turn on. After those 10 seconds is over, zone 2 will continue to run. This will help some systems where an abrupt shutoff of the water causes ‘water hammer’.
