I have two Smart Hose Timer WiFi hubs that repeatedly show offline in the app while remaining fully connected to Wi-Fi. Serials: CA446296 (“Main House”) and CA347559 (“Guest House”), both on current firmware (WiFi 6.0.15 / BLE 6.0.16, no update offered).
Symptom: the hub holds a strong Wi-Fi association (verified on my UniFi controller — associated, valid DHCP lease, good signal) but stops communicating with the Rachio cloud. The app shows the hub offline and the LED flashes purple. Only a power-cycle restores it, and it recurs within days. The Guest House hub has been offline since ~1:10am MDT on July 15 (your cloud’s lastStateUpdate). The Main House hub wedged on July 10, 16, and twice on July 17 — typically right after a Wi-Fi reassociation or while actively running valves.
Network side is ruled out: dedicated 2.4GHz-only IoT SSID, no band steering or 802.11v, static channels, working DNS, no outbound filtering. These hubs are the only devices on the network with this behavior.
Three questions:
- Can you check these hubs’ server-side check-in logs to see why their cloud sessions are dying?
- I understand support can remote-reboot base stations — could you reboot the Guest House hub (CA347559), and let me know if I can request that when this recurs?
- Is this connected-to-Wi-Fi-but-offline wedge a known issue, and is any fix planned?
