I just purchased the smaller 2nd gen. Rachio and was able to connect to the controller just fine in my house. The wiring for my controller, however, is in my detached garage. After installing the Rachio in my garage, the app showed the Rachio as “offline.” I power-cycled the app and device multiple times but got nowhere.
Eventually I removed the device and tried to re-add it. Big mistake. Since then, most of the time and can’t even find the device and the 2 times I have (after reseting the Wifi settings) I then get stuck on the “Verifying Connection” screen. My phone can get full bars wifi in the garage. I don’t understand what the problem is. Please help.
