One change I do see for next season flex is allowing you to easily change the watering frequency, like we allow changing water duration. Yard too brown, increase frequency (some multiplier), yard too green, decrease frequency. This way, we abstract away all of the advanced zone settings (allowed depletion, etc.)

I take that your would just be simplifying the wording and the background equations and such will remain the same?

Even simpler than that, adding a frequency slider that will not make you understand MAD, root zone depth, field capacity, etc. Under the covers, I’m thinking we will just apply an offset to the crop coefficient, so you are effectively tracking towards more/less ET. That will magically make you water more/less frequent without having to change other values.

How is Duration accounted for? You will not want it to go down just because you increased the frequency.

Correct, we will keep our current duration adjustment, and add a frequency adjustment that will not affect duration.

I think this would be a great help for people like me trying to use flex scheduling with drip beds of mixed perennials and annuals. I have had trouble getting it set up right with flex.
