I have 2 controllers.
I have my grass zones on controller 1 end by sunrise. I have my drip on controller 1 start at 8am. Drip on controller 2 start at 3pm. Grass one controller 2 starts at 8pm (I’m in dry ass AZ, so I don’t worry about fungus among us). Everything has free reign to run any day of the week. On very rare occasions, my drip on my 2 controllers will overlap, but I have enough water pressure and flow that it has never caused an issue.
