Power block

I have been using the Gen 1/ 8 zone unit which has been great. After 6 weeks of use, the unit would not power on. I contacted the seller who sent me a replacement unit. I used the new power block on the old unit as a test and found that it powered on. immediately after plugging the new brick into the previously used outlet with the original unit, i heard popping and smoke came from the power block. Now the unit does not power on. any thoughts? what is my next step?
